The Housing (Control of Occupation)
(Suspension of Provisions of Section 65) Ordinance, 2004
 
THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 24th September, 2003[a], and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 65 and 66 of the Housing (Control of Occupation) (Guernsey) Law, 1994[b] and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby order:-
 
Suspension of provisions of section 65.
1.      The provisions of section 65(1) of the Housing (Control of Occupation) (Guernsey) Law, 1994, as amended are hereby suspended in relation to-
 
(a)      a property owned by the States which is known as “Furzedown” and situated at Bulwer Avenue in St Peter Port, Guernsey; and
 
(b)      any temporary accommodation which is certified by the States Housing Authority as having been constructed -
 
(i)      on land owned by the States in the Island of Guernsey, and
 
(ii)      for the purpose of accommodating persons working under a contract of employment in Guernsey, who are not States’ employees.
 
Interpretation.
2.      Except where the context requires otherwise, expressions used in this Ordinance shall have the same meanings as in the Housing (Control of Occupation) (Guernsey) Law, 1994, as amended.
 
Citation.
3.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Housing (Control of Occupation) (Suspension of Provisions of Section 65) Ordinance, 2004.
