The Liquor Licensing (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve) Ordinance, 2000

 

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 11th day of October, 2000[a], hereby order:-

 

Modification of Ordinance of 1993.

1.      (1)      Notwithstanding the provisions of the Liquor Licensing Ordinance, 1993, as amended[b], ("the principal Ordinance") it shall be lawful for licensed premises (other than those in respect of which only a General Off-Licence is in force) to open for the sale, supply and consumption of intoxicating liquor on-

 

(a)      Christmas Eve, Sunday, 24th December, 2000; and

 

(b)      New Year's Eve, Sunday, 31st December, 2000;

 

as if those days were weekdays, save that the permitted hours for all such premises shall be-

 

(i)      on both of those days, 12 noon until 3.30 p.m.;

 

(ii)      on Christmas Eve, 7.00 p.m. until 11.45 p.m.; and

 

(iii)      on New Year's Eve, 7.00 p.m. until 1.45 a.m. on Monday, 1st January, 2001.

 

(2)      The principal Ordinance shall apply in all other respects save as necessary to give effect to the provisions of subsection (1).

 

Interpretation.

2.      Expressions used in this Ordinance shall have the same meaning as in the principal Ordinance.

 

Citation.

3.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Liquor Licensing (Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve) Ordinance, 2000.
