Medicinal products
definition
for purposes of Import and Export (Control) (Guernsey) Law 1946, “medicinal product” as defined by art. 1(2) of Council Directive 2001/83/EC—words to be construed according to natural meaning, i.e. (a) any substance or combination of substances presented as having properties for treating or preventing disease in human beings, or (b) any substance or combination of substances which may be used in or administered to human beings either with view to restoring, correcting or modifying physiological functions by exerting pharmacological, immunological or metabolic action, or to making medical diagnosis—cannot infer that medicinal product should necessarily have therapeutic benefit and function of treating or preventing disease: Law Officers v.
