The Reform (Amendment No. 2) (Guernsey) Law, 2003

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 29^th October, 2003[a], have approved the following provisions which, subject to the Sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, shall have force of law in the Islands of Guernsey, Herm and Jethou:-

Amendment of Law of 1948.

1. (1) The Reform (Guernsey) Law, 1948, as amended[b], is further amended in accordance with the following provisions of this section.

(2) At the end of the words in Article 25(2) there is inserted "; and also, in the case of a person inscribed on that Electoral Roll when his age is 17 years, that person's date of birth".

(3) In Article 27(1)(a), for "18 years or over" there is substituted "17 years or over: PROVIDED that a person shall not vote at any election before he attains the age of 18 years".

(4) At the end of the words in Article 27(1A)[c] there is inserted ", and, in the case of a person whose age is 17 years on that date, that person's date of birth".

(5) In Article 27(4), immediately after "when he is" there is inserted "under the age of 18 or is".

(6) In Article 28(1), immediately after "unless" there is inserted "he is of the age of 18 years or over and".

Citation.

2. This Law may be cited as the Reform (Amendment No. 2) (Guernsey) Law, 2003.
