The La Mare Road (Closure) (Guernsey) Law, 2011

 

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 23rd day of February, 2011[a], have approved the following provisions which, subject to the Sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, shall have force of law in the Island of Guernsey.

 

Permanent closure of La Mare Road.

1.      From the appointed day -

 

(a)      La Mare Road shall be closed and shall cease to be a public highway,

 

(b)      no person may, except with the consent (express or implied) of the owner, pass and repass over, or be on, La Mare Road whether on foot or with animals or vehicles, and

 

(c)      La Mare Road and the land upon which it runs shall vest for an estate of inheritance in the States of Guernsey.

 

Interpretation.

2.      In this Law, unless the context otherwise requires -

 

"appointed day" means the day appointed by order of the States Public Services Department, and

 

"La Mare Road" means the road called La Mare Road in the Parishes of Saint Pierre du Bois and Saint Saviours which runs between Route de la Tourelle and Route de Plaisance, and which is shown on the plan signed for the purposes of this Law by the Bailiff and lodged at the Greffe.

 

Citation.

3.      This Law may be cited as the La Mare Road (Closure) (Guernsey) Law, 2011.

 

Commencement.

4.      This Law shall come into force on the date of its registration on the Records of the Island of Guernsey.
