PROJET DE LOI
ENTITLED
The Rue Marguerite (Closure) (Guernsey) Law, 2001
THE STATES, in pursuance of their resolution of the 27th day of December, 2000[a], have approved the following provisions which, subject to the Sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, shall have force of law in the island of Guernsey.
Permanent closure of Rue Marguerite.
1. (1) From the appointed day -
(a) the Rue Marguerite shall be closed and shall cease to be a public highway;
(b) no person may, except with the consent (express or implied) of the owner, pass and repass over, or be on, the Rue Marguerite, whether on foot or with animals or vehicles; and
(c) the Rue Marguerite and the land upon which it runs shall vest for an estate of inheritance in the States of Guernsey.
(2) In this Law -
"appointed day" means the day appointed by order of the States Public Thoroughfares Committee;
"Rue Marguerite" means that part of the road called Rue Marguerite in Saint Peter Port which runs between the western end of Le Febvre Street and St James Street, which is known as New Street North and which is shown on the plan signed for the purposes of this Law by the Bailiff and lodged at the Greffe.
Citation.
2. This Law may be cited as the Rue Marguerite (Closure) (Guernsey) Law, 2001.
