The Reform (Sark) (Amendment) Law, 2023

THE CHIEF PLEAS OF SARK, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 5^th day of October 2022, have approved the following provisions which, subject to the Sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, shall have force of law in Sark.

Amendments to the Reform (Sark) Law, 2008.

1. (1) The Reform (Sark) Law, 2008[a] is amended as follows.

(2) In section 32 -

(a) in subsection (2) -

(i) after "("the Midsummer meeting")," delete "and", and

(ii) after "("the Michaelmas meeting")," insert "and the seventh Wednesday after the Michaelmas meeting ("the Budget meeting"),", and

(b) after subsection (2), insert -

"(3) At the Budget meeting, the only business to be transacted is that set out in section 59(2), unless otherwise permitted by the Speaker.".

(3) In section 59(2), for "a meeting in each financial year", substitute "each Budget meeting".

Citation.

2. This Law may be cited as the Reform (Sark) (Amendment) Law, 2023.

Commencement

3. This Law comes into force on the date of its registration on the records of the Island of Sark.
