The Reform (Sark) (Amendment) (No. 2) Law, 2022

THE CHIEF PLEAS OF SARK, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 5^th day of October, 2022, have approved the following provisions which, subject to the Sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, shall have force of law in Sark.

Amendments to the 2008 Law.

1. Section 28 of the Reform (Sark) Law, 2008[a] is amended as follows -

(a) in subsection (1)(a), for "18" substitute "16",

(b) in subsection (3) –

(i) for paragraph (a), substitute –

"(a) the person's name is inscribed in the Register of Electors, and",

(ii) in paragraph (d), for "." substitute ", and", and

(iii) after paragraph (d), insert –

"(e) the person has attained the age of 18 years.",

(i) in paragraph (a), for "17" substitute "15", and for "18" substitute "16", and

(ii) for paragraph (c), substitute -

"(c) the person has been ordinarily resident in Sark throughout any period of 24 months that began on or after the person attaining the age of 13 years, and".

Citation.

2. This Law may be cited as the Reform (Sark) (Amendment) (No. 2) Law, 2022.

Commencement.

3. This Law shall come into force on the date of its registration on the records of the Island of Sark.
