The Financial Provisions (Amendment) (Sark) Law, 2006

 

THE CHIEF PLEAS OF SARK, in pursuance of their Resolution of 18th January 2006, have approved the following provisions, which, subject to the Sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, shall have force of law in the Island of Sark.

 

Amendment of 1978 Law.

1.      In the Financial Provisions (Sark) Law, 1978, as amended[a]:

 

(a)      in section 12, for "£15" substitute "£100";

 

(b)      in each of sections 20 and 28, for "£5" substitute "£30";

 

(c)      in each of sections 13, 21 and 29 for "shall accrue to the Douzaine and shall be applied to expenditure for the purposes of the Douzaine" substitute "shall accrue to the Chief Pleas and shall be applied towards expenditure for public purposes in this Island".

 

Consequential repeal.

2.      In section 1 of the Financial Provisions (Amendment) (Sark) Law, 1991[b], paragraphs (c) and (d) are repealed.

 

Citation.

3.      This Law may be cited as the Financial Provisions (Amendment) (Sark) Law, 2006.

 

Commencement.

4.      This Law shall come into force on the day after its registration on the records of this Island; and an Ordinance made on or after the date of passing of this Law by Chief Pleas pursuant to any provision which is amended by this Law may come into force at any time on or after that day.
