The Health Service (Alderney Hospital Benefit) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2008
 
THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 27th February 2008[a], and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 4 and 35 of the Health Service (Benefit) (Guernsey) Law, 1990, as amended[b] and all other powers enabling them, hereby order:-
 
Amendment of Ordinance of 1997.
1.      In the Schedule to the Ordinance of 1997 -
 
(a)      in paragraph 3(a), for the definition of "the Alderney hospital contract", as inserted in section 39(1) of the Law of 1990 by the Ordinance of 1997, substitute -
 
""the Alderney hospital contract" means any agreement, for the time being in force, for the provision of Alderney hospital benefit at the Mignot Memorial Hospital, Alderney, made between the States of Guernsey and a supplier of medical care services approved for the purposes by the States Health and Social Services Department;", and
 
(b)      in paragraph 3(c) in paragraph (ii) of the definition of "approved nurse", as inserted in section 39(1) of the Law of 1990 by the Ordinance of 1997, for "the partners for the time being of either of the practices known as the Island Medical Centre, Alderney, and the Eagle Medical Practice, Alderney; and", substitute "a supplier of medical care services approved for the purposes by the States Health and Social Services Department; and".
 
Interpretation.
2.      (1)      In this Ordinance, except where the context otherwise requires-
 
"the Law of 1990" means the Health Service (Benefit) (Guernsey) Law, 1990, and
 
"the Ordinance of 1997" means the Health Service (Alderney Hospital Benefit) Ordinance, 1997[c].
 
(2)      The Interpretation (Guernsey) Law, 1948[d] shall apply to the interpretation of this Ordinance throughout the Islands of Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Jethou.
 
(3)      Unless the context otherwise requires, references in this Ordinance to an enactment are references thereto as amended, re-enacted (with or without modification), extended or applied.
 
Citation.
3.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Health Service (Alderney Hospital Benefit) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2008.
 
Commencement.
4.      This Ordinance shall come into force on the 27th February 2008.
