The Bovine Semen, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transplantation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 9th day of February, 2000[a], hereby order-

Amendment of Ordinances of 1957 to 1982.

1. The Ordinances of 1957 to 1982 are amended in the manner set out in the Schedule.

Interpretation.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires -

"the Ordinances of 1957 to 1982" means the Bovine Semen, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transplantation Ordinances, 1957 to 1982[b]; and

"the Schedule" means the schedule to this Ordinance.

Citation.

3. This Ordinance may be cited as the Bovine Semen, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transplantation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001.

Collective title.

4. This Ordinance and the Bovine Semen, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transplantation Ordinances, 1957 to 1982 may be cited together as the Bovine Semen, Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transplantation Ordinances, 1957 to 2001.

Section 1

SCHEDULE

Amendment of Ordinances of 1957 to 1982

Amendment of section 4A.

1. In section 4A(2)[c], for "registered in the Herd Book of the Royal Guernsey Agricultural and Horticultural Society" substitute "which is a certified disease free animal".

2. In section 4A(3), for "the identification sketch and the Certificate of Registry issued by the Royal Guernsey Agricultural and Horticultural Society in respect of that animal for the purpose of identification thereof" substitute "a current certificate issued by the Board under section 25(1) of the Animal Health Ordinance, 1996[d] in respect of that animal".

Amendment of section 10.

3. In section 10(1), after the definition of the expression "consignment" insert -

" "certified disease free animal" means an animal certified by the Board under section 25(1) of the Animal Health Ordinance 1996;".
