The Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008 (Commencement) Ordinance, 2008

THE STATES LEGISLATION SELECT COMMITTEE, in pursuance of the Resolutions of the States of the 29^th March, 2007[a] and the 1^st November, 2007[b], and in exercise of the powers conferred on the States by sections 533, 538 and 545 of the Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008[c] and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, and on the Committee by Article 66(3) of the Reform (Guernsey) Law, 1948[d], hereby orders:-

Commencement of Law.

1. The Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008 ("the Law") shall come into force as follows -

(a) Part XXX of the Law ("Office of the Registrar of Companies") shall come into force on the 12^th June, 2008,

(b) section 513 of the Law ("criminal penalties for offences under the Law") shall come into force on the 12^th June, 2008, but only to the extent that it relates to section 509(1),

(c) section 541 of the Law ("savings and transitional provisions") shall come into force on the 12^th June, 2008, but only to the extent that it brings into effect paragraphs 2 and 4 of Schedule 4, and

(d) the remainder of the Law, and sections 513 and 541 for all other purposes, shall come into force on the 1^st July, 2008.

Citation.

2. This Ordinance may be cited as the Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008 (Commencement) Ordinance, 2008.

Commencement.

3. This Ordinance shall come into force on the 19^th May, 2008.
