The Education (Schools Committees) (Amendment) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2004

 

THE STATES, on the representations of the Education Council and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 6 of the Education (Guernsey) Law 1970a[a], as amended, hereby order:-

 

Amendment of Schedule.

1.      In Part 1 of the First Schedule to the Education (Schools Committees) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1970,b[b] as amended -

 

(a)      the items relating to the Saint Martin's Infants and Junior Schools, and the Amherst Infants and Junior Schools, Vauvert Infants and Junior Schools are repealed;

 

(b)      immediately after the item relating to La Houguette Primary Schoolc[c], there are inserted two items, the first item relating to Saint Martin's Primary School and the second item relating to Amherst Primary School and Vauvert Primary School, as set out the Schedule to this Ordinance.

 

Transitional provisions.

2.      The members of the Saint Martin's Infants and Junior Schools Committee and of the Amherst Infants and Junior Schools and Vauvert Infants and Junior Schools Committee, shall be deemed to continue in office as members of the Saint Martin's Primary School Committee and of the Amherst Primary School and Vauvert Primary School Committee respectively and shall hold office in accordance with the terms of their appointment under the Education (Schools Committees) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1970, as amended.

 

Interpretation.

3.      In this Ordinance, the expression "Committee" has the same meaning as in the Education (Schools Committees) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1970, as amended.

 

Citation.

4.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Education (Schools Committees) (Amendment) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2004.
