The Waste Management Services (Charging) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of 8^th September, 2022[a], and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 32A and 72 of the Environmental Pollution (Guernsey) Law, 2004[b], and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby order:-

Amendment of 2018 Ordinance.

1. (1) Section 3 (basis on which charges are to be calculated) of the Waste Management Services (Charging) Ordinance, 2018[c] is amended as set out below.

(2) In subsection (1), before "to meet" insert "(subject to subsection (2A))".

(3) After subsection (2), insert –

"(2A) The Waste Disposal Authority, in calculating the projected total cost under subsection (1), shall take into account that any deficit shall be funded from General Revenue.".

Citation and Commencement.

2. This Ordinance may be cited as the Waste Management Services (Charging) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, and shall come into force on 2^nd December, 2024.
