The Driving Tests and Driving Licences (Increase of Fees) Ordinance, 2000
THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 9th day of December, 1999[a] and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 3 of the Public Transport (Guernsey) Law, 1984[b] and section 2 of the Motor Taxation and Licensing (Guernsey) Law, 1987, as amended[c], hereby order:-
Amendment to 1986 Ordinance.
1. In section 4(4) of the Road Traffic (Permits to Drive Public Service Vehicles) Ordinance, 1986, as amended[d], for "£20" substitute "£24".
Amendments to 1995 Ordinance.
2. The Driving Licences (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1995, as amended[e], is further amended as follows-
(a) for Schedule 2 substitute the following Schedule-
" SCHEDULE 2 Section 4
Driving test fees
The fee payable prior to taking a test of competence relating to a motor vehicle of a class included in the category set out in column (1) of the Table below shall be the corresponding sum set out in column (2) thereof.

(b) for Schedule 3 substitute the following Schedule-

Fees for licences

(1) A provisional licence granted to a person
who has not held a licence before £22.00
(2) First full licence granted in exchange
for a provisional licence £0.00
(3) Renewal of a full or provisional licence £22.00
Description of licence Fee
(4) A full or provisional licence granted in
exchange for a subsisting licence (other
than a licence issued by the competent
authority in a country outside the Island)
or in place of a licence revoked pursuant
to section 9(1) of this Ordinance
(surrender of driving licences) except-
(a) where the licence granted is a first
full licence granted in exchange
for a provisional licence; or
(b) where the subsisting or revoked
licence is surrendered pursuant to
section 9(1) or (2) of this
Ordinance and the Committee is
required to grant a new licence
free of charge £6.60
(5) A licence issued in exchange for licence
issued by the competent authority in
a country outside the Island £22.00
(6) The first licence granted to a person
after the expiration of a period of
disqualification imposed upon him by
an order of the court where-
(a) the licence will remain in force
for less than six years £13.20

(b) the licence will remain in force
for more than six years, for each
year or part thereof until its
expiration £2.20
(7) A licence granted pursuant to section
11(2) of the principal Law £6.60
(8) A duplicate licence £6.60".
Citation.
3. This Ordinance may be cited as the Driving Tests and Driving Licences (Increase of Fees) Ordinance, 2000.
Commencement.
4. This Ordinance shall come into force on the 1st day of May, 2000.
