The Public Service Vehicles (Minimum Age)
Ordinance, 2022
THE STATES POLICY & RESOURCES COMMITTEE, in exercise of the powers conferred on the States by sections 3 and 6 of the Public Transport (Guernsey) Law, 1984[a], sections 2 and 28A of the Motor Taxation and Licensing (Guernsey) Law, 1987[b], and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, and in exercise of the powers conferred on the Committee by Article 66A(1) of the Reform (Guernsey) Law, 1948[c], hereby order:-
Amendment to 1986 Ordinance.
1. In section 4(1) of the Road Traffic (Permits to Drive Public Service Vehicles) Ordinance, 1986[d], after "twenty years" add ", provided that a permit may be granted to a person aged 18 or 19 years if the person has held a full Category B licence within the meaning of the Driving Licences (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1995 for at least 12 months (and subject to compliance with the requirements of this section)".
Amendments to 1995 Ordinance.
2. (1) In Schedule 5 to the Driving Licences (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1995[e], in the entry relating to National Code 130, for "Category C + E" substitute "the indicated Category".
(2) In the Table in Schedule 6A to the Driving Licences (Guernsey) Ordinance, 1995, in the entry relating to Category D -
(a) in the second column, for "21" substitute "18", and
(b) in the fourth column, after "Applicants must hold a full Category B licence." add "Applicants under 21 must have held a full Category B licence for at least 12 months.".
Citation and commencement.
3. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Minimum Age) Ordinance, 2022 and shall come into force on 31st May, 2022.
