The Health Service (Benefit) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2002

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 26th day of September 2002[a], and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 6, 13, 35 and 39 of the Health Service (Benefit) (Guernsey) Law, 1990[b], as amended and all other powers enabling them, hereby order:-

Amendment of 1990 Ordinance.

1.      For Schedule 1 to the Health Service (Benefit) Ordinance, 1990[c], as amended, substitute the schedule set out in the Schedule to this Ordinance.

Amendment of 1990 Law

2.      In section 39(1) of the Law -

(a)      in the definition of "approved dentist" after "31st January, 1990" insert, ", but excludes a dentist whose access to the Board's radiology or pathology services is restricted to an exclusively private basis"; and

(b)      in the definition of "approved medical practitioner" after paragraph (ii) insert, "but excludes a medical practitioner whose access to the Board's radiology or pathology services is restricted to an exclusively private basis;".

Repeal.

3.      The Health Service (Benefit) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2001[d] is repealed.

Extent.

4.      This Ordinance shall have effect in the Islands of Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Jethou.

Citation.

5.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Health Service (Benefit) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2002.

Commencement

6.      This Ordinance shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 2003.
