Ordinance, 2024

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 23^rd November, 2023[a], and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 3(2) and (4), 15 and 15B of the Income Support (Guernsey) Law, 1971[b], and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby order:-

1.Amendment of Ordinance.

1.                   (1) The First Schedule to the Income Support (Implementation) Ordinance, 1971[c] is amended as follows.

(2)               In paragraph 15 (earnings) -

(a)                    for subparagraph (1) substitute -

"(1) Save for a person who is in receipt of carer's allowance, in respect of whom subparagraph (1A) applies, the weekly earnings of a person shall be taken to be the person's net weekly earnings reduced by £40.

(1A) In the case of a person who is in receipt of carer's allowance, the weekly earnings of the person shall be taken to be the person's net weekly earnings reduced by £50.".

(b)                   in subparagraph (3)(b) for "payable in accordance with the Severe Disability Benefit and Carer's Allowance (Guernsey) Law, 1984", substitute "paid to the person", and

(c)                    after subparagraph (4), insert -

"(5) In this paragraph, "carer's allowance" means the carer's allowance payable in accordance with the Severe Disability Benefit and Carer's Allowance (Guernsey) Law, 1984.".

2.Citation.

2.                   This Ordinance may be cited as the Income Support (Implementation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024.

3.Commencement.

3.                   This Ordinance shall come into force on 14^th June, 2024.
