The Social Insurance (Reciprocal Agreement with Australia) Ordinance, 2001.

 

THE STATES, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 113 of the Social Insurance (Guernsey) Law, 1978, as amended[a], hereby order:-

 

Revocation of 1992 Ordinance.

1.      (1)      Subject to subsection (2), the Social Insurance (Reciprocal Agreement with Australia) Ordinance 1992[b] (in this Ordinance referred to as the "1992 Ordinance") is revoked.

 

(2)      The 1992 Ordinance shall continue to have effect in relation to any person who-

 

(a)      on 28th February 2001 was in receipt of benefit by virtue of the 1992 Ordinance; or

 

(b)      would have been entitled to payment of benefit by virtue of the 1992 Ordinance, in respect of a period commencing on or before 28th February 2001.

 

Interpretation.

2.      In this Ordinance, "benefit" and "claim" have the same meaning as in the Social Insurance (Guernsey) Law, 1978.

 

 

 

Extent.

3.      This Ordinance shall apply to the Islands of Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Jethou.

 

Citation.

4.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Social Insurance (Reciprocal Agreement with Australia) Ordinance, 2001.

 

Commencement.

5.      This Ordinance shall be deemed to have come into force on 28th February, 2001.
