The Social Security (Reciprocal Convention with Republic of Korea) Ordinance, 2000
THE STATES, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 113 of the Social Insurance (Guernsey) Law, 1978, as amended[a], hereby order:-
Reciprocal Convention to have effect.
1. (1) The Convention on Social Security between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the Republic of Korea, signed at Seoul on the 20th April, 1999[b], shall have full force and effect.
(2) The Social Insurance (Guernsey) Law, 1978, as amended, shall have effect subject to such modifications as may be required for the purpose of giving effect to the said Convention.
Extent.
2. This Ordinance shall apply to the Islands of Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Jethou.
Citation.
3. This Ordinance may be cited as the Social Security (Reciprocal Convention with Republic of Korea) Ordinance, 2000.
Commencement.
4. This Ordinance shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of August, 2000.
