The Water Charges (Amendment) Ordinance, 2004
THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolution of 1st August, 2003[a], and in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by Article 17 of the Law entitled "Loi ayant rapport à la Fourniture d'Eau par les États de cette Île aux Habitants de la dite Île" registered on 7th May, 1927, as amended[b], hereby order:-
Increase in water charges for 2005.
1. For paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Schedule to the Water Charges Ordinance, 1991, as amended[c], substitute the following paragraphs -
"1. The charges which may be made in 2005 under section 5 for a supply of water to a property by measure are -
(a) a charge of £1.28 per cubic metre of water supplied, and
(b) the quarterly charge in column 2 below appearing opposite the size shown in column 1 of the meter which measures the property’s supply.

2. The charge which may be made in 2005 under section 4 or 6 for a supply of water for domestic purposes to a property otherwise than by measure is the quarterly charge in column 2 below appearing opposite the band of rateable values in column 1 which contains the aggregate of the rateable values of the property and its curtilage.

Increase in water charges for 2006.
2. The charges which may be made in 2006 under sections 4, 5 or 6 for a supply of water to a property by measure or otherwise shall be the figures set out in the Schedule to the Water Charges Ordinance, 1991, as amended, increased by -
(a) a percentage amount equivalent to the annual percentage increase in the Guernsey Index of Retail Prices as at 30th September, 2005, and
(b) 10% of the equivalent charge applied for such a supply in 2003.
Repeals.
3. The Water Charges (Amendment) Ordinance, 2003[d] is repealed.
Citation.
4. This Ordinance may be cited as the Water Charges (Amendment) Ordinance, 2004.
Commencement.
5. (1) This Ordinance, with the exception of section 2, shall come into force on 1st January, 2005.
(2) Section 2 of this Ordinance shall come into force on 1st January, 2006.
