The Children (Parental Responsibility Agreement) (Sark) Ordinance, 2017
 
THE CHIEF PLEAS OF SARK, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 18th January, 2017, and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 6(2)(c) and 43 of the Children (Sark) Law, 2016[a], hereby order:-
 
Form of parental responsibility agreement.
1.      A written agreement made under section 6(2)(c) of the Children (Sark) Law, 2016 (a "parental responsibility agreement") shall be made in the form set out in the Schedule to this Ordinance.
 
Filing and registration.
2.      (1)      A parental responsibility agreement, together with two copies, shall be filed, with the Court of the Seneschal of Sark.
 
(2)      Upon filing of the documents referred to in subsection (1), the Court shall seal the copies and send or give one to the child's mother and one to the child's father.
 
(3)      A parental responsibility agreement filed in accordance with this section shall be registered on the public records of the Island of Sark.
 
Interpretation.
3.      (1)      The Interpretation (Guernsey) Law, 1948[b] applies to the interpretation of this Ordinance.
 
(2)      Any reference in this Ordinance to an enactment is a reference thereto as from time to time amended, re-enacted (with or without modification), extended or applied.
 
Citation.
4.      This Ordinance may be cited as the Children (Parental Responsibility Agreement) (Sark) Ordinance, 2017.
 
Commencement.
5.      This Ordinance shall come into force on the 19th January, 2017.
