THE CHIEF PLEAS OF SARK, in pursuance of their Resolution of the 18^th January 2023, and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Education (Sark) Law, 2001[a], hereby order:-

Amendment of 2003 Ordinance.

1. The Education (Sark) Ordinance, 2003[b] is amended as follows.

2. In section 2 -

(a) in subsection (3A) after the words "in Guernsey" insert "or the United Kingdom",

(b) for subsection (3B) substitute -

"(3B) Where the Committee has approved a school under subsection (3A) -

(a) it shall provide such financial assistance to the parents of such children in respect of their attendance at the school as it thinks fit, and such assistance may include the funding of tuition and exam fees, in whole or in part, and

(b) in relation to a school in Guernsey, it may at its discretion, where practicable and in consultation with the parents of the children in question, arrange appropriate board and lodging in Guernsey, and transport to and from Guernsey, for and in respect of senior school children attending the school.".

Citation.

3. This Ordinance may be cited as the Education (Sark) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023.
