Statutory Instruments
Some Laws or Ordinances give a States Committee or statutory body the power to make regulations, orders or rules which have the force of law. These are called Statutory Instruments. They deal with matters of detail relating to the operation of a Law or Ordinance. For example, the Committee for Employment & Social Security issue statutory instruments defining the details for claiming benefits and the specific conditions of entitlement.
In order to help users find the relevant content, the Statutory Instruments have been split up into Guernsey & Bailiwick, Alderney and Sark, and each section can be accessed via the links at the top of the screen.
Because of the large quantity of Statutory Instruments in this section, you may find it easier to search for the item you require using the Advanced Search facility.
*Statutory Instruments prior to 1990 may not be searchable on the Advanced Search function due to them being scanned copies and not set in plain text.
