The States Housing (Termination of Tenancies) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2005

THE STATES, in pursuance of their Resolutions of the 24^th November, 2004[a] and the 30^th March, 2005[b], and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the States Housing (Tenancies, Rent and Rebate Scheme) (Guernsey) Law, 2004[c] and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby order:-

Termination of States housing tenancies.

1. All States housing tenancies which relate to the occupation of any States residential property specified in the schedule of properties shall terminate at midnight on the 6^th May, 2005.

Publication of schedule of properties.

2. (1) The schedule of properties must be lodged at the Greffe.

(2) Without prejudice to subsection (1), the Department may publish the schedule of properties or the contents thereof in such manner as it thinks fit (for example, by publication on a website).

Interpretation.

3. In this Ordinance -

"Department" means the States Housing Department,

"schedule of properties" means the document entitled "Schedule of States residential properties" signed for the purposes of identification by the Minister of the Department and dated the 1^st March, 2005,

"States housing tenancy" means any tenancy agreement existing between a tenant and the States (acting by and through the Department) which relates to the occupation of States residential property,

"States residential property" means any residential property an estate of inheritance of which is vested in the States (or in which the States has any other form of property right enabling it to grant or create a States housing tenancy),

and other expressions have the same meanings as in the States Housing (Tenancies, Rent and Rebate Scheme) (Guernsey) Law, 2004.

Citation.

4. This Ordinance may be cited as the States Housing (Termination of Tenancies) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2005.
